"friend journaling"

Last week's heArt Journaling with The Greeting Farm...

WEEK 4 - The Girl in Me
Assignment: Create a spread or a page using the concept of hand-drawn girls. I want you to actually draw a character in your book!!! It can be sketchy, cartoony, realistic, or even stick figures.
Tip:Try a different medium that you've never used before.

Did she just say HAND DRAWN?!?!
Oi, this was really intimidating! I haven't drawn anything of the sort since I was in high school!
I had absolutely no clue as to what I was going to do... then, I got a text from my sis letting me know that one of our wonderful scrappy friends b'day was that weekend, and then the ideas just clicked together :)

I decided to use my first canvas! and Gesso-ed it the night before...
the following morning - play time!!!
I Modge Podge-d scraps of The Girl's Paperie DP all over it...

It took only a few minutes to dry, I don't use much and I don't cover the whole front with Modge Podge, just the edges to make sure that everything is somewhat laying flat - I wanted to have as much paper as I could to draw on and be able to erase any mistakes ;)

Next step, draw my girlie...
She was inspired my scrappy friend and a few artists pics that I saw online :)

Watercolor Crayons!!!
I just discovered how fun and versatile these crayons can be! Loving them!!!

A few minutes for the coloring to dry...
STAMP TIME!!!
I used The Greeting Farm's Blush Hello, Blush Heart and Splotchy Stamps;
A sentiment from TE Moka Lani Stamp Set and 2 other stamps sets, sorry, but I don't remember where or the names at the moment, lol! Old age, geesh!

BTW, Memento Tuxedo Black Ink is what I stamped with! It worked, but took a while to dry on the spots that had Modge Podge on it... added some fabric ribbon and ric rac for the edge of her skirt!

Did some doodling too!!!
Another first! and SO much fun and I can see this becoming very addicting!!!
Very :)

Added some die-cut flowers and dew drops too :)

All fun, bright, cheery!
Just like my scrappy friend
and I truly hope that she loves it just as much as I do!
I cannot wait to create one for myself ;)

Thanks for stopping by again!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend xoxo

Buzz Buzz, Honey Bee

Oh dear Monday, please be kind to us today :)

Most of you know that I have a love/hate relationship with Sketches of any kind, lol!
I have a hard time following sketches to exactly what they look like, but I DO find a whole lotta inspiration from them!

I finally got to ink up my lil "Honey Bee" from MFT's Pure Innocence
and I was very inspired by their sketch this week :)

Now y'all must know what papers these are! hee hee
I have been milking my Nikki Sivils Willowbee 6x6 pad for SO long!
and I still have a tiny bit more :)  I loooove it! I think I'm going to cry when it's all done :(
I'm in search for more of it! or any other kind of "bumble bee themed" DP!!!
Please let me know if you know of any, thanks ;)

I even had a bit of fun on the inside of the card too!
The giant bumble bee stamps are from the Willowbee stamp set :)
The sentiment is part of the MFT stamp set... Making Memories Black Lace
and The Robin's Nest Dew Drops (remember when these were popular? LOL!)

Thanks for stopping by today!!!

My poor lil 4yo has been sick all weekend long with some sort of virus,
he's doing better now, but we will be doing some extra snuggling today just to be sure ;)
Later gators!

Time for Dessert!!!

Who's ready for some DESSERT?!?!?
I'm always ready for some goodies! Especially if there's some chocolate hidden in it ;)
I remember when I was a kid, I would always think to myself...
'When I grow up, I'm going to have desserts after Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner!" LOL!

Today's Pixie Dust Challenge #59
is to create a Recipe Card or a Cooking themed card!

I used Pixie Dust's "Pint Size Chef" Digital Image!
Isn't he the cutest lil baker ever?!
When I was in 5th grade, our class trip was to take an all day tour of NYC! One of our stops was to an Italian restaurant (can't remember the name!) and everyone in the kitchen was dressed like this in these colors! I'll never forget that plate of spaghetti and meatballs ;)
I also used some October Afternoon "Modern Homemaker" DP and Cardstock from one of my Taylored Expressions Key Ingredients Kits! and I found an old bottle of Dew Drops!!! I just had to add some on ;)

I hope you play along with us this week!
Thanks for stopping by!

Oh yea - did I mention that there's even more snow today than there was yesterday and the day before! Ugh! Stay warm ;)

Just popping in to share what I've been up to the last 2 days :)
Other than being sick {ugh!} I've been trying to get my things together for my Craft Fair that is on this Saturday! and have created some fun frames too!

These pics don't show the details very well - I painted the backsides, Modge Podge-ed the front sides and added acetate to the windows to keep the pics safe from dust ;) They are a bit on the simple/plain side, but I think that they turned out pretty well :)
