Oh, Alice! Chapter 47: Back Down the Rabbit Hole...

Today is a BITTERSWEET day at Oh, Alice! It has been almost a year since our Mad Hatter, Jessica, got this wonderful idea to dedicate a blog to Alice in Wonderland, it's challenges and the wonderful and talented "Twisted DT" !!! Which then transformed into a huge following of weekly challenges!...and she thought she was the only one who was crazy about Alice things!!!

After much consideration, Oh, Alice will be closing it's doors this week, but will return next week as The Altered Alice, a blog that our Twisted Thirteen member Lynne Phelps has started and will continue on from here. The Altered Alice will still be bringing you FABULOUS challenges with excerpts from our beloved chapters that tell us so much about Alice's world!

So for our last challenge...
We are going to be traveling "Back down the Rabbit Hole"!!! Back to the beginning!!!
Create a HELLO card (OR a "Goodbye" card), it's all about what it looks like on the other side of that Looking Glass, right?

The DT has once again been blessed with a WONDERFUL assortment of Nikki Sivils papers and embellishments to work with as Nikki has graciously supplied the DT with, as well as a WONDERFUL prize pack for ONE lucky winner (all entries must be linked at the Altered Alice Challenge Blog AND the winner will be announced there next week as well!)

Well, it's time to jump back down that Rabbit Hole...so please, dont forget to enter your challenges this week on the NEW "Altered Alice" blog!

Enjoy your weekend!!!

Oh, Alice! Chapter 46: Queen Alice

"Hush-a-by lady, in Alice's lap!
Till the feast's ready, we've time for a nap.
When the feast's over, we'll go to the ball -
Red Queen, and White Queen, and Alice, and all!"

~ "Queen Alice", Through The Looking-Glass

So very sorry for being a bit behind this weekend! but I am so very happy with how my card turned out, I am glad that I decided to take my time with it :)
This week's Oh, Alice! is... to create a card/project that is either mostly white or mostly red.
AND! This week's Oh, Alice challenge is being sponsored by Baby Bud Designs! and Baby Bud Designs Etsy Shop!

I decided to go with a whole lotta RED!!!
I felt that "Cheeky Rockabilly" would be perfect for this Royal Challenge :) I pulled out some Cosmo Cricket scraps and at the last minute decided to distress and use a gold doilie and feathered lollipop flower! I just had to give her the Royal treatment ;)

Hope you likey :)
You have until Friday, January 21st, 8pm CST to submit your creations.
Can't wait to see who will join in!!!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend :*)

Oh, Alice! Chapter 45: Remembering Holiday Dreams

"Oh, I've had such a curious dream!' said Alice, and she told her sister, as well as she could remember them, all these strange Adventures of hers that you have just been reading about; and when she had finished, her sister kissed her, and said, `It WAS a curious dream, dear, certainly: but now run in to your tea; it's getting late.' So Alice got up and ran off, thinking while she ran, as well she might, what a wonderful dream it had been."

-- Chapter 12, Alice in Wonderland

I hope you have some wonderful holiday dreams to remember! We are still locked in winter in the northern hemisphere, and that makes me think of an icy blue color scheme. It is also time to start scrappng those Christmas and New Year memories!

Our generous sponsor, Nikki Sivils, is offering a huge prize to help you capture those memories! One randomly drawn winner will receive a 6x6 inch pad, 12x12 inch designer paper, and burlap covered buttons from the Happy Holly-Days Collection!

So the challenge this week, should you choose to accept it, is to share something that helps you capture your holiday memories, like a layout, mini-album or picture holder of some kind, OR to use an icy blue and white color scheme!

The design team this week will be showing off some fabulous paper from our generous sponsor, Nikki Sivils. They will be using the wonderful "Something for Everyone" collection in beautiful Alice blue or the Happy Holly-Days collection.

I have 2 cards today using Nikki Sivils' "Something for Everyone" Collection :)

For my first card,
I just had to use my newest stamp from My Favorite Things called "Splish, Splash"...
isn't he the cutest lil guy?! I stamped the sentiment on NS' Cardstock Sticker... and I also used MFTs Die-namics Notebook Edge...

... and on the inside,
I used the Open-Scallop Border Die-namic with another sentiment from the set :)

For my next card, I used the same Nikki Sivils DP and this time I used one of their matching courdory brads! It has been so long since I've used any type of brads - and these are awesome! I'm going to need to get me a bunch more ;)

For this card,
I used another My Favorite Things stamp set, "Apple for You" and their Scallop-Scalloped Die-namic :)
Doesn't lil Miss Apple look like a 3yo version of Alice? hee hee
I'm also entering this card to the That's Kraft Thursday Challenge #45!

Thanks everyone for stopping by today :)

You have until Friday, January 14th, 8 p.m. CST to submit your creations using the link on the Oh, Alice Challenge blog. Remember you can either share a holiday memory or use an icy blue color scheme, so show us your stuff and one luck winner will walk away with the prize pack from Nikki Sivils!

And don't forget to stop by and visit the rest of the DT and see their wonderful creations :)
Have a fab weekend!!!

Oh, Alice! Chapter 44: "Curiouser and Curiouser"

"Curiouser and curiouser!' cried Alice (she was so much surprised, that for the moment she quite forgot how to speak good English); `now I'm opening out like the largest telescope that ever was! Good-bye, feet!' (for when she looked down at her feet, they seemed to be almost out of sight, they were getting so far off). `Oh, my poor little feet, I wonder who will put on your shoes and stockings for you now, dears? I'm sure _I_ shan't be able! I shall be a great deal too far off to trouble myself about you: you must manage the best way you can; --but I must be kind to them,' thought Alice, `or perhaps they won't walk the way I want to go! Let me see: I'll give them a new pair of boots every Christmas."

Hello from all of us here in Wonderland! This week at Oh, Alice!, we are Curiouser and Curiouser to see if you are willing to play along with our weekly challenge. The challenge is a simple one, and one that most of us should be able to play along with, we would like to take Wonderland and turn it into a Winter Wonderland! Yes, that's right.....put your boots on, hats, mittens and lets play in the snow! Alice, with a hat on? Rabbit in the snow? Anything that reflects a Winter Wonderland. Have fun with it!

This week we are being sponsored by SUGAR NELLIE/FUNKYKITS.
They are a fabulous company and you really should go over and take a peek.

Sugar Nellie is a small Scottish company that brings you fantastic rubber stamps from some amazing artists. Funky Kits is the sole online retailer for Sugar Nellie stamps - so head on over to grab yourself some of that sugary goodness! The prize for this week will be 1 set of 6, yes, I said 6 Leanne Ellis Alice in Wonderland stamps.

Oh my! The "Clean and Simple" bug has been sticking ;)
I stamped my Gorjuss Girl directly onto my cardstock (PTI) using Memento Tuxedo... and then colored her and her kitten in a Red/White theme (of course I couldn't leave out her blonde hair and a lil blue hidden in the kittens collar, hee hee!) - my boys are calling her "Candy Cane Girl and her Peppermint Kitty-Kat", LOL!  I then used my Die-namic on a sliver of Nikki Sivils "Holly Days" DP, added one of Nikki Sivils awesome burlap buttons with some misc. ribbon - done!
I looove how she turned out :)

Now put your winter hat on, think Winter in Wonderland and play along!
Don't forget to visit the rest of the DT and see their amazing creations too :)

I am also entering my card into the following challenges:
- The Pink Elephant Challenge #90: Winter Wonderland
- Cupcake Craft Challenge #121: Non-traditional Christmas

Oh, and a quick note: Oh, Alice! will be taking a short time away to play in our Wonderlands thru the holidays. We will resume in the new year (January 8th, 2011) with more challenges and fun giveaways!

Oh, Alice! Chapter 43: Christmas Greetings...

Good morning! I am sorry, but I cannot seem to upload any pics right now to anywhere right now :(
For now :) here is the Oh, Alice challenge info for this week!
I hope to have the prob solved sometime tonight, right now I have to finish all the last minute stuffs before my Big Boy's b'day party this afternoon :) Star War themed at Boomer's, LOL! It's going to be so much fun!
Thanks much!!! :*)

LADY dear, if Fairies may
For a moment lay aside
Cunning tricks and elfish play,
'Tis at happy Christmas-tide.

We have heard the children say—
Gentle children. whom we love—
Long ago, on Christmas Day,
Came a message from above.
Still, as Christmas-tide comes round,
They remember it again—
Echo still the joyful sound
"Peace on earth, good-will to men!"
Yet the hearts must childlike be
Where such heavenly guests abide;
Unto children, in their glee,
All the year is Christmas-tide!
Thus, forgetting tricks and play
For a moment, Lady dear,
We would wish you, if we may,
Merry Christmas, glad New Year!

Christmas, 1867.

Welcome down the rabbit hole once again my friends. This poem by Lewis Carroll was found in the back of a copy of Through the Looking-Glass and What Alice Found There. In researching the history of this poem are fellow DTer, Erin, found the All Saints, the Lewis Carroll Memorial Window at Daniell Chapel in England. The 3 centre panels contain verses from this Lewis Carroll’s poem. The window was designed by the stained glass artist Geoffrey Webb and depicts a Nativity scene, at which both Carroll and Alice are present. This is a must see for anyone that loves Wonderland.

For our challenge this week, Oh Alice! wants us to get into the Christmas spirit.
The challenge is to use red, green, + one color. You can still use other colors for hair and skin. Just make the main use of color red, green, + one.

Our wonderful sponsor this week is Pixie Dust Studio.
The lucky winner will receive your choice of 2 digital images.

http://www.pixieduststudio.net/

So get your Santa hat on, turn on your favorite holiday music and get crafty for your chance to win your choice of 2 digital images! Remember, you have all week to play this challenge! Link your project to the Oh Alice! Challenge blog by midnight, Friday, December 17th to be entered in the drawing. Happy creating!!

Links to artists' sites participating in this week's challenge. Please link to the exact post, not your overall blog/site address. Flickr, Ning and other locations are acceptable so long as they are open to the public. Winner selection based on a random draw.

AND, please be sure to stop by the rest of the DTs blogs for more Pixie/Christmas-y inspiration :)
Happy Saturday!!!

Oh, Alice! Chapter 42: The Flowers are Talking!

`O Tiger-lily,' said Alice, addressing herself to one that was waving gracefully about in the wind, `I wish you could talk!' `We can talk,' said the Tiger-lily: `when there's anybody worth talking to." Alice was so astonished that she could not speak for a minute: it quite seemed to take her breath away. At length, as the Tiger-lily only went on waving about, she spoke again, in a timid voice -- almost in a whisper. `And can all the flowers talk?' `As well as all can,' said the Tiger-lily. `And a great deal louder.'

Hello from all of us in Wonderland! This week at Oh, Alice! we would like you to have a go at making your own flowers! So get fun creating, we can't wait to see what you come up with!

This week we are being sponsered by 'Some Odd Girl', who have gorgeous Digi Stamps that the DT have been luckily enough to create with this week.

So get creating your own flowers for your chance to win THREE of your very own 'Some Odd Girl' Images! You have until Friday the 10th of Dec to play long with us!

Oh, Alice! Chapter 41: Off With Their Heads!!!

I'm sorry I'm late with my post for today!!!
Please don't "off" my head for it ;)

"Let's go on with the game,' the Queen said to Alice;
and Alice was too much frightened to say a word, but slowly followed her back to the croquet-ground.
The other guests had taken advantage of the Queen's absence, and were resting in the shade: however, the moment they saw her, they hurried back to the game, the Queen merely remarking that a moment's delay would cost them their lives.
All the time they were playing the Queen never left off quarrelling with the other players, and shouting `Off with his head!' or `Off with her head!' Those whom she sentenced were taken into custody by the soldiers, who of course had to leave off being arches to do this, so that by the end of half an hour or so there were no arches left, and all the players, except the King, the Queen, and Alice, were in custody and under sentence of execution."

Welcome back to the land of wonder and where the saying, 'Off with her head' is a regular statement!
Well here on Oh, Alice! this week, that is exactly what we want you to do.
This week we want you to take your stamps and yep you guessed it,
'Off with their heads'
So we are asking you to alter your stamps and mix it up a little by giving them a new head or body.
Ohhh this is going to be sooo much fun seeing what you come up with!!!

Up for grabs this week is a Scor Buddy from the lovely people at scrappingreatdeals.com.
So off with their heads for your chance to win this awesome prize.
You have until the 3rd of December to play along with us.

Here's my card...

Woo hoo! I just noticed that this is my 800th post! Wow! Took a lil over 4years to get to this one, LOL!

This was a really good challenge for me ;)  I have never attempted to alter a stamp/image before (always too scared to try, lol!) and I just knew that I had to give in and try it out! Took me a looong time, but I think I succeeded... even though I had to cheat a little and use some of my clear stamps for this, hee hee!

First I stamped MFT's Pure Innocence "Happy Mail" Stamp and then I used another Pure Innocence Stamp called "Being Cute is What I Do" - I decided to add a lil blue to her outfit and color her hair blonde for a bit of an Alice-look to her and added some paper piecing using my new October Afternoon "Modern Homemaker" papers from my yummy TE Key Ingredients Kit and put my card together using the latest SFYTT Sketch Challenge :) Thank goodness for awesome sketches, right?!

After I had finished my card, I realized that maybe I should have wiped off the letters that she's holding behind her back too, lol, oh well! Maybe she's mailing her letter to Santa then since my card does have a Christmas-y feel to it ;)

Please be sure to visit the rest of the DT to see their amazing and inspiring creations too!
Thanks for stopping by!
Happy Saturday :)

Oh, Alice! Chapter 40: "Hooka Are You?"

"Who are YOU?" said the Caterpillar.

This was not an encouraging opening for a conversation.

Alice replied, rather shyly, "I--I hardly know, sir, just at present-- at least I know who I WAS when I got up this morning, but I think I must have been changed several times since then."

~Alice's Adventures in Wonderland,Chapter 5

Welcome to the mad world of Wonderland! Once again we are here to inspire you to create great things! The Caterpillar (Absalom) was the wisest creature in Wonderland. At least he thought so, and so did most of the others. He is a fascinating character because of his wisdom, and his lack of understanding metamorphosis. Kind of a weird oxymoron, don't you think?

Our challenge this week is to use either a caterpillar or a butterfly in your project. If you'd like to go one step farther, use a definition or dictionary paper in your design (any subject is fine).

If you are fortunate, you may find yourself wisely winning your choice of three 4x6 reprints from our sponsor, Maigan Lynn Beaudoin Shaw. FanTASTic!! Maigan is such a delightful artist, and the team appreciates the chance to work with one of her images!

Here is what I created using "Mad Fancy"...

Such a beautiful whimsical image! I created a 6x6 layout - I wanted to concentrate all of my colors mostly on my mer-Alice and incorporate only colors that I relate to Alice and Wonderland... I thought that the printed faded black DP and swirls would add to the whimsy feel of the image and story...
Sorry that the pic came out so bright, I was trying to get a good angle to show the sparkle that I added in...
I really love how it turned out, and hope that I can find the perfect frame to put it in :)

Remember, you have all week to play this challenge!
Link your project to the Oh Alice! Challenge blog by
midnight, Friday, November 19th to be entered in the drawing.

Happy creating!!!
And enjoy your weekend :*)

I'm barely whispering...

Happy Sunday :)

I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying their beautiful weekends!
And look at me! I survived my Craft Fair, lol! Being sick while trying to mingle and talk with people was not easy, but with the help of my sis, I survived and had fun! Yes, I'm paying the price today with a severe case of laryngitis, coughing and the body aches, but it was all worth it ;)  On the plus side, all of my boys are being so well behaved and understanding and have even found that I can be quite entertaining trying to communicate with them using hand gestures and drawing pics!!! LOL!

Here are a few other things that I was sellling at my table yesterday using my new fave thing, Modge Podge!...

Another pic frame...

I used My Mind's Eye, MFT Die-namics and Prima

Notebook using Cosmo Cricket and my Slice...

My Mad Hatter inspired notebook using G45...

And here's a pic of ALL my boys visiting us at our table :)

My sister, Sarabeth, was such a HUGE help! I really couldn't have done it without her!
THANK YOU lil sissy :*)

OH! And a few quick challenge reminders! I cannot believe how I've missed out on this week!

November's Color Combo: Brown, Creme with a mix of your choice of another color!

And...
Oh, Alice! Chapter 39: Nothin' but Tea and Time on our hands...
"An inspiration piece that looks like a watch , but in this case, the face of "Father Time" is the Mad Hatter himself."

Thanks so much for everyone's love, support, comments!!!
You are all SO very appreciated!!!
I am very much looking forward to starting a new week
and getting better and on track again!

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday! hugs :*)

Oh, Alice! Chapter 38: "Tickets Please!"

'moring! Please scroll down for my
Thanks much :)

`Tickets, please!' said the Guard, putting his head in at the window. In a moment everybody was holding out a ticket: they were about the same size as the people, and quite seemed to fill the carriage.
`Now then! Show your ticket, child!' the Guard went on, looking angrily at Alice. And a great many voices all said together (`like the chorus of a song,' thought Alice), `Don't keep him waiting, child! Why, his time is worth a thousand pounds a minute!
`I'm afraid I haven't got one,' Alice said in a frightened tone: `there wasn't a ticket-office where I came from." And again the chorus of voices went on. `There wasn't room for one where she came from. The land there is worth a thousand pounds an inch!'

-- Chapter 3, Through the Looking Glass

Greetings friends in Wonderland! We are FULL STEAM AHEAD into November and today's challenge is JUST the ticket! Our ride this week is sponsored by our own Tasha who is generously donating a $15 gift certificate to Stamping Bella (in honor of their cute new Alice stamp) which will be awarded to one randomly selected winning traveler!

But before we get started, there are some changes at our twisted tea party table! We are bidding farewell to longtime design team members Jen and Suzi, so please leave them some extra love as you visit their last Oh, Alice! DT posts. We will really miss their superb talents! Donna, our amazing October guest designer, is stepping up to the table so we are back to our twisted thirteen. Welcome Donna, we are so glad you are staying where it's always time for tea! Be sure to check back next week for to find out who our guest designer will be for the holiday season!

So, do you have YOUR ticket ready for a ride on the Wonderland Express? Our twisted sis Lynne is the conductor this week and she says you can't travel with Oh, Alice! if you don't show us your ticket! You can make a ticket, use a ticket stamp, use a real ticket. Use one ticket or a whole row of tickets! So hop on it and get YOUR ticket ready to take a journey through Wonderland!

I don't want to get left behind!!!
SO here's my ticket, ummm, I mean card, into Wonderland ;)

I think I might have went a bit overboard with my punch in making the whole 'ticket' card/look! but I love how it turned out! I added my 'story' ticket (by Tim Holtz) and a bit of 'Alice' ribbon that I've been hording for forever!!! :) A quick and simple card for anyone who needs a break from coloring, hee hee!!!

BUT, I wanted to make sure that I had enough tickets to get on the 'Wonderland Train', hee hee! and decided to color up one of my newest adoptees...
Cheeky Rockabilly!

I looove her cheekiness style and attitude!!!
I added another Tim Holtz stub and used my Slice on some pretty October Afternoon (Daydreams?) papers and blinged it up with a few Prima Pearls...

Now, it's time for you to get those tickets ready so you can travel with us on the Wonderland Express! You don't want to be left behind as this train leaves the station, so enter your new creations by 8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 12th! Good luck, or maybe we should say Bon Voyage, as we can't wait to see where your creations will take us!

AND don't forget to visit the Twisted DT for a peek at their amazing creations :)

Oh, Alice! Chapter 37: Halloween in WONDERLAND...

Happy Saturday everyone!
This week at Oh, Alice! We have a "just for fun" post today here in Wonderland that doesn't follow a book excerpt or poem... just a good ol' fashioned HALLOWEEN theme!
After all, tomorrow IS Halloween and it's time to showcase some fun projects, and many of us are using the Graphic 45 special line of papers, Halloween in Wonderland!

Oh my! How I love these Graphic 45 papers! Bought some a while ago just to drool over ;)
I couldn't decide what to do, so I came up with these 2!!!

I really looove the rustic orange-y color on the dp and decided to go all traditional with the Black and Orange combo...

And here's my other card!
I haaad to do something "mad" too ;)

PURPLE! Y'all know that purple and me don't get along, lol! But purple most certainly is the Mad Hatters main color; I just had to try and make amends to create this :)

We really hope you enjoy our projects today and that you feel like playing along! Today our VERY generous DT member Ky is offering up a set of Alice stamps by Elaine Cox! Even more of a reason to get creepy or crafty this week and show us what you can do!

Be sure to stop by the blogs of my TEAm Mates:

Update and Oh, Alice! Chapter 36

Good evening! I hope that everyone is enjoying their weekends!
I'm sorry! but I have been having problemss with my Blogger account! I keep getting error messages, losing posts and don't get me started on the whole pic issues! ha!

I have tried posting this 4 other times in the last 12 hours or so! So with the hope that this actually goes through ;) Here is this week's Oh, Alice Challenge info!
I hope you'll join us! and I hope that I can too soon :)
Thanks for your patience and understanding! hugs!!!

"They don't keep this room so tidy as the other,' Alice thought to herself, as she noticed several of the chessmen down in the hearth among the cinders: but in another moment, with a little `Oh!' of surprise, she was down on her hands and knees watching them. The chessmen were walking about, two and two!

`Here are the Red King and the Red Queen,' Alice said (in a whisper, for fear of frightening them), `and there are the White King and the White Queen sitting on the edge of the shovel -- and here are two castles walking arm in arm..."

--Ch. 1: Through the Looking Glass

It's time for some Oh, Alice fun again!!!
The challenge this week is from our very talented DT member, Lynne...
Use some aspect of the game of chess!
You might want to use a checkerboard pattern, or feature a King, Queen, Knight or Castle (Rook), or some other aspect of the game we haven't thought of - we just need to be able to clearly see CHESS in your creation!

We are THRILLED to announce that there's a prize this week, too!
Thanks to our generous sponsor, PAPER MANIAC, this week, they are giving away a set of Artistic Outpost Alice in Wonderland mini-stamps AND a sheet of E.A.D. Designs Stickerz!

Oh, Alice! Chapter 34: A Mad Tea Party!

`And ever since that,' the Hatter went on in a mournful tone, `he won't do a thing I ask! It's always six o'clock now.'
A bright idea came into Alice's head. `Is that the reason so many tea-things are put out here?' she asked.
`Yes, that's it,' said the Hatter with a sigh: `it's always tea-time, and we've no time to wash the things between whiles.'
`Then you keep moving round, I suppose?' said Alice.
`Exactly so,' said the Hatter: `as the things get used up.'
`But what happens when you come to the beginning again?' Alice ventured to ask.

~Chapter 7, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland

Wonderland greetings to all!
This week's Oh, Alice Challenge is brought to you by our sweet Ky :) and here's what she said: "Can you believe summer is fairly over? It's time to change from iced teas over to hot teas. I love autumn and all the wonderful warm drinks, wonderful sweaters and gorgeous colors it brings. In Wonderland, it was perpetually tea time and I could live that life for a long, long time!"

Your challenge this week is to explore things that could make up your tea-time activity. Use tea bag folding in the construction of your project. This is a great resource: Tea Bag Folding. Anything relating to time would pair perfectly with this challenge, but isn't a requirement!
Show us your fab folding abilities, doing it Alice-style!

Here's my attempt at 'folding' something :)

I attempted to do the Pinwheel tutorial found HERE...
as you can see it is no where close to be a pinwheel of any sort, lol! I just couldn't get it all to work for me, so I did one part 'petal' of a pinwheel and stopped when I found myself with a very cute looking kite ;) I had a ton of fun attempting the folds, but I definitely need a bit more practice! I hope to get one done soon and share :)

My image is Pinky from Tiddly Inks done up Alice-style! If you look closely, I did add a bit of Alice's trademark blue in there, and of course, the gorgeous long blond hair! She's all set for today's Halloween-style-tea-party-picnic with her scrumptious skull-cupcake ;)

You have until midnight Central time on Friday, October 15th to complete your project and link it up to the Oh Alice Challenge blog. You don't want to miss out on your chance of wining a 6x6 pad of Basic Grey papers from Ky!!!
The clock is ticking - SO don't be Late for TEA ;)

Enjoy your weekend!!!
I'll be nursing my ear-pain and snuggling with some good books :)

Oh, Alice! Chapter 33: DICTIONARY of Nonsense

Alice didn't dare to argue the point, but went on: `-- and I thought I'd try and find my way to the top of that hill -- '
`When you say "hill,"' the Queen interrupted, `I could show you hills, in comparison with which you'd call that a valley.'
`No, I shouldn't,' said Alice, surprised into contradicting her at last: `a hill can't be a valley, you know. That would be nonsense -- '
The Red Queen shook her head, `You may call it "nonsense" if you like,' she said, ` but I've heard nonsense, compared with which that would be as sensible as a dictionary!'

--Ch. 2: Through the Looking Glass

Greetings from Wonderland! Before we commence this week's challenge, LOTS of tea-toasting to our FABULOUS new October Guest at Tea: DONNA BUDZYNSKI! Donna's amazing work caught our eye a while back and we are thrilled to have her joining us! A VERY MERRY unbirthday to you, Donna! WELCOME!

The challenge this week is to use TEXT in a NONSENSE way - not to read, but as a pattern in your card. Use a page from an old dictionary or other book, stamp a background text stamp or use a text-patterned paper in your creation. Link up your creations and the design team will stop by to do some CREATIVE READING as we look at your entries this week!

Here is my Text card :)

I used Miss Classy from The Greeting Farm for my card today...
She reminds me of Alice trying so hard to be proper ;)
My papers are from October Afternoon's "The Thrift Shop" pad;
I had a lot of fun with my MFT Scalloped-Scallops Die-namic and added my 'text' dp as ruffles ;)

The Greeting Farm is our SPONSOR this week, and not only are we thrilled to have them again, the prize just got sweeter! There is a RUBBER SINGLE OF CHOICE up for grabs for this challenge AS WELL as the highly-sought after "Wonderland" digital stamp set!
Nonsense you say? Believe it! You have through Friday, October 8th at 8pm CST to enter to WIN the above prizes! We'll announce our lucky winner on Saturday, October 9th with the next challenge here at Oh, Alice!

Good luck to all who enter our little Challenge here in Wonderland!

Oh, Alice! Chapter 32: Journey to the Center of the Earth...

Good evening, I'm sorry to be late with my card! My mojo skipped out on me for this one, and I struggled a bit, lol! It happens everytime I force myself to try something new ;)
Here is this week's Oh, Alice! Challenge!!!...

"Down, down, down. Would the fall never come to an end!
"I wonder how many miles I've fallen by this time?' she said aloud. `I must be getting somewhere near the centre of the earth. Let me see: that would be four thousand miles down, I think--'"
(for, you see, Alice had learnt several things of this sort in her lessons in the schoolroom, and though this was not a very good opportunity for showing off her knowledge, as there was no one to listen to her, still it was good practice to say it over)
"yes, that's about the right distance--but then I wonder what Latitude or Longitude I've got to?' (Alice had no idea what Latitude was, or Longitude either, but thought they were nice grand words to say.)..."

Hello from DOWN the RABBIT HOLE today, everyone!
My teammate Jen has given us a wonderful challenge for this week!!!
Now it's time to really fall down the rabbit HOLE this week with this challenge!
Oh, Alice, Chapter 32... Your task if you wish to accept it is to...
create a card with a WINDOW or HOLE in it!

I decided to try a different type of card, a gate fold card...
I struggled a bit with how to create a door and what to put on the door, lol!
I hope you likey ;)

Here's the outside (October Afternoon DP and TJ Designs "Down the Rabbit Hole" Rubber Stamp Set)...

... and here's the inside...
I used The Greeting Farm's "Wonderland" digital set and Cosmo Cricket's "Pixie-Licious" DP :)

Now it's time to take a look at what the design team has created in their fall down the rabbit hole!
Jessica {The Mad Hatter} - http://thewhimsicalbutterfly.blogspot.com
