Oh, Alice! Chapter 38: "Tickets Please!"

'moring! Please scroll down for my
Thanks much :)

`Tickets, please!' said the Guard, putting his head in at the window. In a moment everybody was holding out a ticket: they were about the same size as the people, and quite seemed to fill the carriage.
`Now then! Show your ticket, child!' the Guard went on, looking angrily at Alice. And a great many voices all said together (`like the chorus of a song,' thought Alice), `Don't keep him waiting, child! Why, his time is worth a thousand pounds a minute!
`I'm afraid I haven't got one,' Alice said in a frightened tone: `there wasn't a ticket-office where I came from." And again the chorus of voices went on. `There wasn't room for one where she came from. The land there is worth a thousand pounds an inch!'

-- Chapter 3, Through the Looking Glass

Greetings friends in Wonderland! We are FULL STEAM AHEAD into November and today's challenge is JUST the ticket! Our ride this week is sponsored by our own Tasha who is generously donating a $15 gift certificate to Stamping Bella (in honor of their cute new Alice stamp) which will be awarded to one randomly selected winning traveler!

But before we get started, there are some changes at our twisted tea party table! We are bidding farewell to longtime design team members Jen and Suzi, so please leave them some extra love as you visit their last Oh, Alice! DT posts. We will really miss their superb talents! Donna, our amazing October guest designer, is stepping up to the table so we are back to our twisted thirteen. Welcome Donna, we are so glad you are staying where it's always time for tea! Be sure to check back next week for to find out who our guest designer will be for the holiday season!

So, do you have YOUR ticket ready for a ride on the Wonderland Express? Our twisted sis Lynne is the conductor this week and she says you can't travel with Oh, Alice! if you don't show us your ticket! You can make a ticket, use a ticket stamp, use a real ticket. Use one ticket or a whole row of tickets! So hop on it and get YOUR ticket ready to take a journey through Wonderland!

I don't want to get left behind!!!
SO here's my ticket, ummm, I mean card, into Wonderland ;)

I think I might have went a bit overboard with my punch in making the whole 'ticket' card/look! but I love how it turned out! I added my 'story' ticket (by Tim Holtz) and a bit of 'Alice' ribbon that I've been hording for forever!!! :) A quick and simple card for anyone who needs a break from coloring, hee hee!!!

BUT, I wanted to make sure that I had enough tickets to get on the 'Wonderland Train', hee hee! and decided to color up one of my newest adoptees...
Cheeky Rockabilly!

I looove her cheekiness style and attitude!!!
I added another Tim Holtz stub and used my Slice on some pretty October Afternoon (Daydreams?) papers and blinged it up with a few Prima Pearls...

Now, it's time for you to get those tickets ready so you can travel with us on the Wonderland Express! You don't want to be left behind as this train leaves the station, so enter your new creations by 8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 12th! Good luck, or maybe we should say Bon Voyage, as we can't wait to see where your creations will take us!

AND don't forget to visit the Twisted DT for a peek at their amazing creations :)

Just Because...

Hi everyone and Happy Tuesday!

Well, at the moment, my printer is on the fritz - or what hubs is calling it, a much needed vacay for the poor ol' guy! ha!
I don't have a new digi's to play with right now :(
So, I was 'forced' to dust off some old stamp sets and pull out some extra digi's that I have laying around - it's a good thing that I always print 2 or more of them at a time ;)

So you won't believe what I found at the bottom of my little stash???

I love Papertrey Ink! Y'all know I have an addiction to their Kraft CS ;)
I love their stamp sets too! I only own 2 sets... and {ducking!} I have never used them!
gasp! I know! What was I thinking?! lol!

I finally used "With Sympathy" today to create a requested 'Just Because' card that needed to have 5 of something on it to represent the 5 people that it's going to...
This was a bit difficult for me since it's not my usual style, but I think I like how it turned out :)

I used the following challenges for inspiration :)
- Cute Card Thursday Challenge #125 - Use trees or leaves
- Flutter By Wednesday #117 - Use Butterflies, Angels or Fairies

Here's my card...

Be honest, what do you think?! :)

... and look! No designer/pattern paper! lol!
I used PTI Cardstock, Colorbox Inks and Tim Holtz "Peeled Paint" Distressed Ink and Prima Pearls...
I even pierced the corners so they wouldn't look so empty! Another first for me since I have never done that before either! lol!

I hope the requet-er likes it :)
I look forward to hearing your opinions!

Oh, Alice! Chapter 24: Windows and Broken Glass...

"Now tell me, Pat, what's that in the window?'
`Sure, it's an arm, yer honour!' (He pronounced it `arrum.')
`An arm, you goose! Who ever saw one that size? Why, it fills the whole window!'
`Sure, it does, yer honour: but it's an arm for all that.'
`Well, it's got no business there, at any rate: go and take it away!"

There was a long silence after this, and Alice could only hear whispers now and then; such as,
`Sure, I don't like it, yer honour, at all, at all!'
`Do as I tell you, you coward!'
and at last she spread out her hand again, and made another snatch in the air. This time there were TWO little shrieks, and more sounds of broken glass.
`What a number of cucumber-frames there must be!' thought Alice.
`I wonder what they'll do next! As for pulling me out of the window, I only wish they COULD! I'm sure I don't want to stay in here any longer!"

Good morning and Hello Friends!...it's CRYSTAL CLEAR that today you're all joining us for a fabulous challenge here at Oh, Alice! We have all sorts of lovely techniques for you to try today!

Your mission today with Oh, Alice!, should you choose to accept it, is to try a technique using cracked glass, crystal effects (or glossy accents), or a window stamp/technique. There are TONS of possibilities with today's challenge and we are SO ready to see all of the fabulous creations you enter!

I tried to do the "cracked glass" technique, soooo was not happening for me, LOL!
So, I broke out my trusty Crystal Effects from SU! I've had the bottle for over a year! I love it and should use it more often ;)

Look! More Kraft :)  First, as you can see, I created my own background using a Tim Holtz stamp set that I "borrowed" from my lil sister ;) It's called "Regal Flourish"... ink is SU Chocolate Chip... I couldn't find a suitable DP for how I wanted my card to look... what do you think???

The image is "Time For Tea", a digital image from Tiddly Inks! I LOVE her! I used the Crystal Effects on her headband and shoes, to give her an ol' fashion patent leather look and the clock's  face is all nice and shiny too!... see pic below...

I have been desperately trying to use up all of my scraps! This card measures 4 1/4 x 4 1/4, all cardstock (and button) is from Papertrey Ink; You can see that I used the lil scrap leftover from where I nestie-d the circle out! I used it as a lil peep-hole for the tiny Alice stamp! This stamp and the sentiment are from TJ Designs "Down the Hole" Rubber Stamp Set... and the gorgeous pale blue plaid ribbon is from MFT!

I would also like to enter my card to the following challenges:
- Tiddly Inks Challenge #15: Fit For a Princess
- Dare U 2 Digi Stamp Sketch Challenge #43
- OTWC Challenge# 18: Blue, Yellow and White (Black/Creme)
Scrappy Saturday Challenge #15: Stamp Something!

I hope you likey my card today!
We cannot wait to see what everyone will create this week!!!

There's no time limit to play this week but be sure to leave a direct LINK to your creation HERE so we can see your beautiful work. We'll be back next week with another challenge and wonderful theme!

Oh, Alice! Chapter 23: Ravens and Writing Desks...

"The Hatter opened his eyes very wide on hearing this;
but all he said was, "Why is a raven like a writing-desk?"

"Come, we shall have some fun now!" thought Alice.
"I'm glad they've begun asking riddles. — I believe I can guess that," she added aloud.

"Do you mean that you think you can find out the answer to it?" said the March Hare.

"Exactly so," said Alice.

"Then you should say what you mean," the March Hare went on.

"I do," Alice hastily replied;
"at least--at least I mean what I say--that's the same thing, you know."

Good morning and hello everyone!
We are ready to FLY with this week's challenge here at
Oh, Alice!

This week, we challenge you to...
use BIRDS on your card or papercrafting project!

We may never know the answer to the riddle above, but while we're pondering that and life's little mysteries we may as well make a great card or two in the process, right?

My card is a bit different than what I am use to... though, I really love how it turned out! Who knew I could actually go with something that didn't involve coloring?! :)

I used one of my never-been-used-before "Where You Are" Scrapbooking Stamp Set by Unity! I won this set during one of their releases, and when I received it - I was in total awestruck! Such huge, beautiful and somewhat, intimidating stamps! What will I ever do with them other than to sit, stare and drool! ha!

I really love the bird cage and knew that I had to fit the sentiment on there too! Everything came together so perfectly! And the card is just a lil over 5x5 size! Love it :)

{Inside too!}

I used some scraps of PTI Kraft CS that I found in my closet {Yea! I love Kraft!!!}, October Afternoon Polka-dotted DP, Memento Tuxedo Ink (is there anything else?), Prima flowers, MFT Trimming and some of Tim Holtz ticket stubs...

There's no time limit to play this week,
but be sure to LINK your card or creation at the
Oh, Alice Challenge blog!!!

Please be sure to visit the very fun and twisted DT:

Jammin' Out!!!

Happy Wednesday!!!
It is such a relief that Blogger is behaving again ;)
Just a quick post for today! Trying to keep my boys busy, cool and busy! We may have to take a trip to the library, I hope we don't melt along the way there! Wish us luck, lol!

Ok, so I am finally able to share with you my 2 cards that I created for
Pixie Dust Studio's latest release...
Jammin' Out

Both cards are perfect for the Tween/Teen in your life ;)

For my first card, I used Mr. Music...
He's rockin' his new I-Pod!!!

For my next card, I used Miss. Music...
What is she listening to? Jonas? Bieber? LOL!

For both cards, I used my Slice for the die cuts and different scraps of Cosmo Cricket papers. My precious Copics did the coloring and then added a few loose embellies here and there! Simple and easy, what we all love, right?!

Go HERE to check out the latest Jammin' release!!!

AND!!! Mark your calendars!!!
You definitely do not want to miss on the next one :)
Love me some Christmas in July!

Thanks for stopping by!
Stay cool!!!

Miss Evie Flowers

Yea! Finally back into the groove of things!
And before I get started on the rest of my week ;) I wanted to quickly show you this lil cutie that I found a few weeks ago... Miss Evie Flowers from Squiggle Stamps! Isn't she adorable?! I couldn't resist all of her "flower hair" and just had a ton of fun coloring her up in different colors! Took a bit of time, but it felt great to get my coloring groove on again ;)

I pulled out some cool Cosmo Cricket DP and the "Wish" ticket is from Tim Holtz since it's a "Birthday" Challenge at the Squiggle and Giggles Blog :) Used some swirls from Recollections and those gem flowers are from K&Company... my Slice has been coming in handy lately, made the giant flower and triangles with it ;)

Quick, easy and totally fun :)
Thanks for looking!
