A pair of Thank You cards...

Hello again!!! I hope you're enjoying your Monday :)
I just wanted to stop in real quick to share a couple of Thank You cards I created this weekend - and then I'm off to both of my boys Parent/Teacher Conferences! I looove hearing what the teachers have to say about them, and I will also be receiving their first report cards for this year :)  Will probably have to stop somewhere and get them a treat on the way home, I have a feeling that they're both doing exceptionally well ;) hee hee!!!

Back to my cards ;)
I had a bit of time this weekend and wanted to stock up on some Thank You cards...
It's been a looong time since I've used some of my older stamps, and I came across my very small box of Pure Innocence stamps from MFT - I just had to let them come out and play for a bit!

I then when in search of a few challenges to play along with :)
It's been a while since I've done that too!
I used the following challenges on my cards:
- MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #147
- Simon Says Stamp Challenge: Tag You're It!
- That's Kraft Thursday Challenge #56
- Raise The Bar Challenge #85: Thank You/Grateful
- Card Makin Mamas Challenge #34: Sentiment
- Crafty Sprouts Challenge: Tag It

I had my pad of My Mind's Eye Darling Dear sitting in from of me, and decided to use up all the scraps that I had saved up in there :) This little girlie is called "Being Cute Is What I Do".
I just looove her pigtails - so girlie and sweet :)

For my next card, I used "Apple For You"...

This little PI cutie was one of the first Pure Innocence stamps I ever got - and she is still my all time favorite out of the whole collection :)
I used up some more of my scraps! and had a bit of fun with the button, lol!
This button has a large hole in the middle and just a lil piece of plastic in the back, I couldn't figure out what to do with it, and then 'duh!' it hit me - it's like one of those old fashion belt buckles where you just need to slip the ribbon through and there you go ;) hee hee! geesh! I must be getting old ;)

OH! and I'm just realizing now that I paper pieced them both with the same DP! LOL!

I hope you likey my cards!

Tonight is the "almost 8yo's" first night of basketball training!
He's a bit on the fence on trying out a new sport! Cross your fingers that all goes well ;)

Thanks for looking today!!! xoxoxo

A Gift Tag for a Friend :)

Happy Monday!!!
For everyone who celebrates, are y'all getting your Thanksgiving Dinner shopping done early?! hmmm?! Now that I am older, I really enjoy everything about celebrating Thanksgiving Day :) Especially the food part, lol!
Lucky for me, my hubs manages a market, so it is rare for me to have to do any kind of food shopping, especially for the holidays! This year, he ordered us a a fresh Turkey rather than going through the whole thawing the frozen one out for daaaays process, lol! Can't wait to taste it :)

I have a sweet lil tag to share with you today!
This sweet lady bug image is called "Lady Baby Bug" and she is from Baby Bud Designs...

Hmmm, I'm thinking that this could possibly pass as a Christmas-y tag... maybe not, lol! But it's perfect for any other occasion, right ;)
Everything used on my tag was pulled out of my leftover-scrappy-bins! This is one of my fave lines from Cosmo Cricket, so bright and cheery! and I am completely still addicted and head-over-heels for Kraft CS! I just can't have enough of it!!!

I hope you likey!

Don't forget!!! You still have time to enter Baby Buds Monthly Challenge!!! Go HERE for more deets :)
A new challenge will be posted on Friday, 11/26th!

Enjoy the rest of your Monday and I'll see ya tomorrow with a surprise release from one of my DTs ;) hee hee! Stay tuned!!!
Later gators!!!

Swappin' Scrap Swaps and Amazing News!!!

TGIF!!! I know, I'm cutting it close, but it technically is still Friday ;)
I had so many things planned to make and share with y'all, but this cold really knocked me out for the past couple of days and I needed to just step back a bit and re-prioritize myself ;) We are all finally feeling much better and are looking forward to a gorgeous weekend!

So for tonight, I'd like to show y'all the amazing swaps that I received last week for participating in Sara's Swappin' Scraps over at PCP!

First up, this was the Alpha Inchie Swap! I made the letter's M and N... I just now realized that I photographed the letters B and S upside down! I'm so sorry! oops! ;) I guess I took a bit too much cold medicine yesterday {blushing}Second, here's the Cupcake Swap!
We were to make anything Cupcake themed!
I really love how not one is similar to the other at all! Amazing creations!
... and again, the meds got to me, I left my own out of the pic! LOL!
... and last, the Journal Block Swap!
I already have plans for all of these! I've written it all down, so I won't forget what pics and layouts I want to create with these! Very helpful to have these Journal Blocks handy - especially since I am so bad with adding any type of journaling to my layouts!
Now for some really cool news!!!...
My lil sissy, Sara of Scrap Happie!, has done it again!!!
She has created another new swap group over at Unity Place!!!
You must stop by...

In order to participate in these swaps, you MUST use at least 1 Unity product on your creations!
Here are the current swaps going on for the month of May:
#1 - Woman in Your Life Cards: Create a card for the inspirational woman in your life!

#2 - Springtime ATCs: Create an ATC based on what spring is to you!

#3 - Inspirational Butterfly Tags: Create a tag with a butterfly and an inspirational saying.

#4 - Twilight Unite!: Create a postcard promoting your team (Edward or Jacob) with these awesome Twilight stamps by Unity

C'mon Unity addicts! Don't even think about it!
- jump over and join in on all the fun!!! :)

I hope to be back sometime over the weekend...
to share some yummy RAK's that I have received
from some wonderful new friends... and also -
I've won some prizes!!!
Great 'cheer me up' after this rough and tough week I've had!
Oh! and the whole family is very excited!!!
Tomorrow we are all going to Nicky's first T'ball meet!
It's his first year playing a sport! ;)
Tomorrow is just a meet and greet...
lil parade, meet the other team members, pickup his uniform, etc.
- but it's so exciting to see our lil boy growing up!
I'm going to have a ton of pics to add to 365 ;)
Enjoy your weekend :*)

Sissy's Scrap Anything Challenge #1 by Sara

Good Wednesday to y'all! We're back with another Sissy's Scrap Challenge!!!
This week's challenge has been chosen by lil sissy, Sara...

Anything BUT a layout or card themed by your favorite book!!!

So, anything means... an ATC, Bookmark, Tag, etc.

Favorite book??? OhMyGosh!!! How was I suppose to narrow that down??? LOL!
Now, I know what y'all are thinking... but I've decided to give Edward and all the other vamps a lil vacay ;)
... and I won't even get into Harry right now either, LOL!

Here's my newest fave...
The Time Traveler's Wife
by Audrey Neffenegger
Here's a tidbit from the book:
"Henry suffers from Chrono-Impairment—a quasi-medical condition that catapults him, unwillingly, from one random point in time to another. Clare first meets him in 1977, when she is six and he materializes near her parents’ garden as a thirty-six-year-old from the year 2000; he returns regularly throughout her childhood from different times in their shared future. At last, when Clare is twenty and Henry is twenty-eight, they meet in his present, and their relationship begins. But romance proves even trickier than usual when one person keeps vanishing to distant, and occasionally dangerous, times."
"This is far from a science fiction exploration of the space-time continuum, but a heartfelt love story of two people who must live with this curse as part of their lives."
"Why is love intensified by absence?"
~ Clare Abshire, "The Time Traveler's Wife"

Here's my bookmark... Here's the backside... when Henry time travels, he is never sure as to where or what year he is going to...
... and I also made a Tag...
Here's the front...... and here's the back...
Bookmark and Tag Details:
Paper(s): Stampin Up Kraft CS; Frances Meyer "Studious" DP; Paper Pizazzz "Brown Definitions" and "Clouds"; Deja View Fresh Verse "Inspirations"; Unknown "Writing" DP.
Stamp(s): K&Company Marcella Condensed Alpha Stamp Set
Ink(s): Colorbox Blackbird Ink; Spica Black Glitter Marker.
Accessories: Misc. Eyelets and Ribbon.
I am really looking forward to seeing what everyone's fave books are ;)
Thanks for stopping by ;)

Swappin' Scraps Cupcake Swap and The Time Traveler's Wife

Hello, and Happy Thursday :)
I joined in on Sara's Swappin' Scraps Cupcake Swap this month...
Here's what I came up with...
It could be a tag or bookmark... whatever you prefer, lol!
I've never made this size before, 6Lx3W... is that a tag size or bookmark size?
Seems a bit big for a bookmark - even though, I tend to use anything that I can find, usually scraps, or a tissue, lol! For someone who reads a ton of books, I should have a drawer full of them!!! I always misplace them!!!
I should make some time and make myself some more bookmarks ;)
Speaking of books...
My very lovely friend, Rebecca of Bella Carta, let me borrow - The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger... it has taken a slot on my top 5 must read and re-read lists!!!

"Why is love intensified by absence?"
— Audrey Niffenegger (The Time Traveler's Wife)

"It is an unconventional love story that centers on a man with a strange genetic disorder that causes him to unpredictably time travel, and his wife, an artist who has to cope with his frequent absences and dangerous experiences."

This book really moved me in sooo many ways. I actually laughed outloud a few times and definitely teared up during the last 30 to 40 pages, but it was well worth the tissues!
I must admit, at times I was a little confused and I would have to go back to check dates and re-read passages, but it didn't matter. I was so involved with the story and characters, that I really felt what they were going through.
If you love love stories, this is definitely your type of book ;)

Tag/Bookmark Details:
Paper(s): KI Memories - Love,Elsie Jack&Abby Cupcake DP; Stampin Up CS.
Stamp(s): Taylored Expressions Sweet Celebration Stamps; Stampin Up sentiment.
Ink(s): Palette Noir Black; Copic Markers; Spica Glitter Markers.
Accessories: Dew Drops; Creating Memories Corner Punch; Michael's Ribbon.
