Pink or White???

G'morning :)
The question of the day...
Are flamingo's really pink???
Well, they're actually white...

Courtesy of Ask.com:
"Yes, flamingos are born white but because they love eating shrimp all the time, over time the white flamingos aquire a pinkish color from all the shrimp. Once the flamingo is fully an adult it should be almost completly light to medium pink."

Sooo, I think that my lil flamingo went a lil overboard eating those shrimps ;)

Happy Mother's Day!!!

Happy Mother's Day to all!!!
It's beautiful today! No more rain - just endless rays of sun! Gorgeous day for us Mommies to enjoy ;)
Of course, I have some Mommy Day stuff to share with y'all ;) Here's what Nicky made for me at school... I love the way he writes his name! LOL! There is another Nick in his class, so they have to use their last name initial on everything, lol!... on the front cover he attached a homemade key chain with his pic on it and on the other side - it's a pic of a rose!
... here's the inside - beautiful, teary-eyed poem... and his lil hand print!!! I'll cherish it forever!!!
Here's what the poem says:
A piece of me
I give to you.
I painted this flower
To say, "I love you."
The heart is you,
The hand is me,
To show we are friends -
The best there can be.
I hope you will save it
and look back someday
At the flower we shared
on your special day.

I'm all teary again! ;) Isn't that the sweetest?
I must remember to send a Thank You in to his teachers :)
Here's what we made for my Mami, the boys call her 'Mama' :)We used My Mind's Eye DP and die-cuts, Petaloo glitter/rhinestone flowers, Bazzill and JustRite pre-inked letters...... and we also made Mama a 12x12 layout of her fave boys! ;)
She will have to decided on whether or not she wants a frame for it or a scrappy book so we can add more pages to it... I'll take her shopping sometime during the week ;)Here's what my lil sissy gave me!!! Isn't that the cutest lil sister card in the world?!?!
I love that lil stamp from Unity! I didn't get that stamp set - so she is definitely going to have to share! hee heeLook what else my talented little sister made for me!!!
It's a framed cork board to put on my desk and hold my lil notes and to-do lists! but it's so pretty, I'm afraid to use it and mess it up! LOL!She made her own flowers and added brads to form the word - create! Here's what darling hubs gave me! LOL! He tried to pass this off as his own scrappy card!!! ha ha ha ha! Too bad he forgot to cover up the bar code and company name on the back! LMAO!
DH has been taking care of the boys and will be making a delish dinner... even though he bought a cake - I hope he makes his delish brownies!!!... Couldn't ask for a better day ;)
So, how'd you spend your day???
Thanks for passing by!!!

Sissy's Scrap Layout Sketch Challenge#2

Good Wednesday to you ;)
It's time for another Sissy's Scrap Challenge!!!

First, I'd like to thank y'all for all your get-well wishes and sweet, inspiring comments :) They mean the world to me!

I'm feeling a bit better! As much as I don't want to fall behind (again!) , I don't want to over-do it! ;)

Ok, now on to business ;)

Here's lil sissy's Layout Sketch #2...

I'm still having a hard time with sketches, lol! Sara is awesome and very creative with them - as you can see, she even makes her own! BUT, I've always been the type to just lay everything out as I go along - which usually takes me hours to do it that way! :) But even so, it always felt more natural to me doing it that way!

My point is - these challenges REALLY are BIG challenges for me TOO!!! :)
My pics were too big to follow the sketch exactly! So for the 5 panels on the bottom, I improvised with buttons! C'mon! Ya didn't think that I would make one for Nicky and not one for Matt too!!! ;)
Sooo... what do ya think? Do my layouts follow the sketch? ;)12x12 Layout Details:

Paper(s): My Mind's Eye - Dreamy Part 2 DP and Transparency (from MemoryWorks); Bazzill.
Accessories: K&Company Black Glitter Alphabet Stickers; American Crafts Poolside Thickers; Scenic Route Buttons; Unknown Ribbon.

... and this is this week's prize!!!

To join in this week's challenge:
-Create a LO, any size, based on the sketch provided.
-Link us up and leave a comment here or at our PCP group with your link.-If you are using SCS or another forum...please use SSLSC2.
-Creations are due no later than Tuesday, at 8pm EST.
-The winner will be chosen randomly and posted Tuesday, by 9pm EST.

Go on! Take a peek at lil sissy's 8x8 layout!!!
... and then head on over to Sissy's Scrap and try the sketch!!!

Thanks everyone :)
