Falling for The Greeting Farm's Farm Fresh Friday!

We made it through another glorious week ;) TGIF!!!
I'm still feeling icky, I have a sore throat and ear pain and probably could use some antibiotics, but they say that you shouldn't take meds every time you have an ear infection, etc. So I'm trying to be a trooper and just dealing with it ;) hee hee! We'll see how long I'll last!

It's time for another Scrapbook/Layout challenge with
The Greeting Farm's Farm Fresh Friday!!!
This month's theme is to create a Fall scrappy page :)

I couldn't make up my mind with which image out of 2 that I wanted to use, and then I found the perfect pics to go with them, so I just had to create 2 layouts! Woo Hoo! It's been 2 months since I've scrapped anything! Such a huge accomplishment for me :)

Here's my first layout, it's a 12x12...

This pic was taken 10/2008, it was a very hot Fall day, that's why they're wearing shorts and tees. I don't think pics this year will look like this one, lol! We've been wearing jeans and sweaters for almost 2 weeks now...
I used the sweet Archie and Marlene "Harvest" image with some of Cosmo Cricket's "Mr Campy" DP... I cut some of the leaves out from the DP and then added a few Primas and blooms to try to create the feel of 'falling leaves' which is my fave part of fall! I love the huge mess of leaves and colors all over the place - so beautiful and fun :)

Here's a closeup of the adorable couple!

For my next layout, I used some of my Cosmo Cricket's "Maltida" pad to create an 8x8 layout...

Aren't they both precious cuties?!
That's my lil guy, Matt, when he was 4 months old! The pumpkin hat I had purchased when I was preggo with Nick, but Nick grew too fast and never got to wear it! I'm happy that someone did, and boy, did he look adorable ;)

Lil "Toby Pumpkin" is so adorable!
I had SO much fun coloring him and his pumpkin costume!
I tried to give him a bit of a furry look, but it seems that I need a bit more practice ;)

Thanks for stopping by and for all your sweet comments :)

Please be sure to visit The Greeting Farm's Blog and see what the rest of the Critter Crew and Farmers created to inspire you to get your pics out and start scrapping!!! :*)

Play Hard! Drum Hard!

Happy Monday :)
I have really really really wanted to get into layouts again, especially for my boys pics! They're growing up so fast and I have yet to finish one of their books!
So, I have a quick layout to share today!

I discovered a layout challenge blog called...
Which was founded and run by the marvelous and ever so sweet Julie of Live with the Tucker and Wolek Family :)

Their current challenge theme is...

My current favorite band is my lil guy playing the drums!
He really has good rythm and really knows how to give a good show ;)

He clicks his drumsticks first and then counts - One, two, three, four... and then proceeds to play! He is a HUGE fan of Yo Gabba Gabba and just from listening, he knows how to play along to 2 songs!!!
We're definitely looking into some lessons for him in the Fall :)

I finally used some of my much horded BasicGrey DP - Archaic :)
and created this 12x12 of my lil Matt playing his set of drums!
{Thanks to Mama and Papa! Awesome b'day present!}

I love the quote that came with this set (botton right):
"It is a happy talent to know how to play" - Ralph Waldo Emerson

Wow, I just noticed that I didn't use any stamps at all! eek! ;) LOL!
Thanks for stopping by!!!

Do come back soon!
My blog-iversary was yesterday! Woo Hoo! 2 YEARS!!!
Some yummy blog candy is in the works ;)

PS!!!
I updated my {me} page so the journaling/writing is better to see...

Much better, don't ya think?! ;)

My Twilight Tuesday Inspiration Layout

After much struggle with blogger this morning! He has finally decided to play nice and let me at least download my pics! but still no cut/paste :(
Oh well... moving on ;)

**Warning!!! If you haven't read Breaking Dawn, SPOILER ALERT**

This week's Twilight Tuesday Inspiration Challenge was chosen by Alison...

The Transformation

"In Breaking Dawn, Bella transforms from human to vampire. In life, we all go through changes..."

Craft Portion: Create something that narrates a physical change that you have gone through.

Comment Portion: Tell us about that change! or something that you wish to change...

Here's me! 10 years ago! So many ups and downs! but I wouldn't change anything :)
10 years ago, I left my Ex, moved back home, got a divorce and started a new job!!! Such a struggle, but with help of my beautiful family, I made it through!
... and now I have a beautiful family of my own :) <--- this smiley face doesn't even do my happiness any justice! Even with the new ups and downs of life! I still wouldn't change any of it ;) I have been blessed and I am very grateful for all of my precious lil miracles! Some of you may recognize my "me" layout a bit... I spruced it up with my story...

My hair is always changing too! It's just hair! LOL! Through the last 10 years it has gone from pixie short to half way down my back to chin length to shoulder length to recently chin length again! Please take a few minutes to sit back and relax and visit the rest of the Twilight Tuesday team for more inspiring creations and stories :)

Twilight Tuesday Inspiration Challenge #43

Good Twilight Tuesday to you :)
Y'all are gonna love the challenge that Beth (Stamp Insanity) has for us this week!!!
This week's Twilight Tuesday Inspiration Challenge #43 is...

A Love Song for Edward & Bella

Beth: "I love music! I relate just about everything I hear in songs to something. I just breathe it in – I FEEL it! So my challenge is going to draw on that. I challenge you to think about the Saga as a whole, and then to decide in retrospect, what Edward and Bella’s song should be. It can be a song about a particular part of their relationship, or their journey as a whole. Be prepared to explain!! This IS a variation of a prior challenge, so I ask that you try and go in a different direction if you participated previously! This will take some thought before project ideas even come into play..."

Craft Portion: Choose a song. Explain why it should be theirs. Share lyrics that are particularly poignant, if you can. Create a project scrapbook layout around this song.

Comment Portion: Choose a song. Explain why it should be theirs. Share lyrics that are particularly poignant, if you can.
Dear hubs told me I should put a warning label on this one since I'm going to get all deep and mushy with y'all ;)

The Song that I chose...

"Number One Crush" by Garbage from the Romeo & Juliet Soundtrack

Ok, I know, I know - not your typical Love Song, but Love isn't stereotypical... there is no one interpretation for it! Not one thing, feeling, image, sound, etc...

Don't worry, I'm going to explain... The feelings behind this song is strong, possessive - this person is obsessed with their loved one, willing to do anything for them... to the point that there isn't enough or many ways to show their love to them... sounds a bit scary, but true love can, will and has done that to people... you just can't get enough of that love, you hunger for it... you will do anything for it... your heart feels like it's going to burst out of your chest! You just want to hold on tight and never let go...

"I will die for you...

I will cry for you...

I will pray for you...

I will sell my soul for something pure and true,

someone like you..."

I feel that Edward's and Bella's love for each other is like this... no matter what, it's sooo strong, there just isn't enough ways to show that love to each other. 12x12 Layout Details: Paper(s): DCWV Once Upon a Time Print - Forest Glade; Clear Acetate Sheet on Provo Craft Textured Ruby. Ink(s): Stampin Up Chocolate Chip Ink for distressing. Accessories: Prima Nursery Tales Collection Flowers; K&Company Jewels.

Don't forget - stop by and show the Team some love ;)

Beth ~ Dani ~ Eve ~ Rebecca

And Guest Designers:

Alison ~ Donna ~ Jacquie ~ Erica

(Tonya, Jen and Julie are taking a break this week)

LOL! Don't worry - I know that love isn't suppose to be or feel like this 24/7...

but it should ;)

Enjoy your Tuesday!!!

Update, 2 Layouts and a Card!!!

Ok, as crazy as life has been for me lately, I managed to create these 2 layouts and card while the boys, hubs and pup were napping the other day! I had just received this fab kit from Freehand Scraps in the mail, and being upset that all of my precious papers are stored up right now, I couldn't resist playing with my new kit ;)
As I'm typing now, at midnight!, everyone is sleeping again, and even though they all now have ear infections, everyone's temps are normal! Yea!!! It's been a rough and long week...
and even though my temp at the moment is at 102.3 (I guess since I was the last one to catch it, I have another day or 2 to go), I can't sleep... so, I drank 3 Tylenol's with some water, turned on the tv, watching HGTV (thanks to Mom, I'm hooked! lol!)
... and I'm finally posting my stuff ;)
Aren't these 2 the cutest lil boys ever!?!?!!!
This is Nicky's best bud, Darien :) They really took a liking to each other a few weeks after they started Pre-K... they compliment each other sooo well! It's sooo cute to watch them play and interact with each other! Even though Nicky's a baseball fan and Darien is a soccer fan, they've agreed to not argue about it and do other things instead! LOL! They're both such lovable lil guys :)Ok, so I tried to do the lovely Jacquie's ofFamily and Crafting - Twist & Smoosh Ribbon Technique! Ummm, I think I did the twisting ok, but not enough smooshing...??? LOL! I'm thinking I need to practice some more! hee hee!
"Best Buds" Layout Details:

It is extremely rare for me to be in a pic, let alone be in a pic all on my own! lol! I just had to scrap myself!!! ;)
... and this roller stamp that came in the kit was sooo much fun to use! I will definitely be using it a lot, it will be perfect for so many projects, especially for my boys layouts! When I opened my kit, I immediately fell in love with these butterflies from Heidi Swapp! I adore butterflies! They're just perfect for me :)
... I just HAD to add some Primas! I've never met a girl who doesn't love her some Primas!!! ;)"Me" Layout Details:

I have a new scrappy rule!!! I am no longer storing leftover scrappy DP or CS! I have finally used most of it up and no longer have the extra storage space for it! So, everything must be used!!!
I just had to use the rest of this Journaling Card from Jenni Bowlin!!! I am loving the simple and clean look that I have been seeing on a lot of other blogs... I just had to give it a try too :) "Hi" Card Details:
Kit:
Freehand Scraps July 2008 "Flutter" Kit
Paper: Bazzill Basics "Pear", Jenni Bowlin Journaling Card.

I think that the Tylenol has finally kicked in and that I have tired myself out!
I am finally off to sleep! Hopefully everyone will wake up all nice and refreshed for a fun day at my sisters house! Boys are going to watch movies, while the gals are going to be getting their scrappy groove on ;) We can definitely use a change of scenery away from this messy place!
... btw! I have a ton of more stuff from this kit! I will definitely be creating more with it and I will definitely be buying more kits from them too!!!

Have a fab weekend :*)

New challenge blogs keep popping up all over the place ;)
I love trying them all! Most of all, I like the challenge of combing challenges together!
But this time, just couldn't, LOL! it was too hard ;)
I needed a "Thinking of You" card and was inspired by Dare U 2 Digi Stamp Challenge #11 - Color Combo "Chocolate Orange"!
Here's my digi card... I love flower images! but I feel that I really need to practice my coloring in order to make them look more realistic... I love the orange dp from Stampin Up, but I cannot remember which one it is... Georgia Peach??? maybe? ;) Digi Card Details: Paper(s): American Crafts White CS; Stampin Up DP; Making Memories DP. "Boys and their Toys"...

Here's my layout... Seriously! My boys are sooo spoiled!

I asked them to clean up their toys...

and, Nicky seriously, looked me straight in the eyes and said...

"What toys?"

I almost screamed! LOL!

Look at those guilty, adorable lil faces ;)

Jillibean Sprout Contest and Sissy's Scrap Challenge

TGIF!!! Even though I sometimes don't look forward to Saturday mornings 'cause we have to get up early for T-ball! ;) I'm still happy it's Friday! it has been a very rainy Friday, but I've been too busy to dwell!

Well, actually, not 100% true - I did dwell on it for about 20 minutes this morning when I got stuck under a downpour holding big bag of dog food, broken umbrella and car keys lost in the bottom of my purse :) Good times! lol

Ok, moving on ;)

Here's this week's Sissy's Scrap Challenge! A Layout Sketch made by little sissy, Sara (of Scrap Happie!).
And, I finally decided to use my Jillibean Journaling Sprouts that I received in one of my Memory Works kits!
Jillibean is having a Journaling Sprout Contest!!! Winner will receive a $100 cash prize! How awesome is that! (The contest deadline is June 15th.)

... and here's what I finally created!

There isn't much to it! I flipped the sketch around a bit! I wanted all of my pics to fit on one layout!
This was Nicky's first bus trip to his first field trip to a local farm! We had so much fun!
He was suppose to go on his second bus trip to his second field trip to a local small zoo, but was cancelled because of the rain... there were a lot of sad lil faces sitting in class this morning!
I made a second layout to save the rest of the trip stuff (permission slip, etc.)...
Details:
Paper(s): Colorbok Friendly Forest Photo Mats and DP.
Stamp(s): StudioG Alphabet Stamp Set.
Ink(s): Stampin Up Basic Black Marker and Spica Glitter Marker.
Accessories: Colorbok Friendly Forest Chipboard, Alpha Stickers and Flower Brad; Jillibean Journaling Sprouts; Stampin Up Corner Punch; Creative Memories Rounder Corner Punch.
